Now let’s get into this second episode. I wanted to ask you, really, how are you going? It is such a crazy time at the moment, and I just want to make sure that you’re going okay and are you surviving? This is such an emotional time. There is so much fear and so much uncertainty, but I really wanted to give you permission that whatever you’re feeling at the moment is the right feeling. I personally have had my ups and downs going through this time. If you’re following me over on Instagram at Coco Rose Eco, you would have seen some of them. Life for me is pretty crazy at the moment. I am juggling my four children, two of which I am homeschooling.

I am also attempting to run this business. My husband, who is a fly in fly out husband is actually stuck working on the other side of Australia. At the time of recording this episode, we are coming up to nearly seven weeks of not seeing each other, which is quite a long time. The longest we’ve ever done a part is three. This is definitely stretching it, but we are just really thankful. We’ve chosen to see this with the silver lining. We’re just really grateful that he still has a job and he is still employed. We know that this really is just a moment in time and this time next year, we’re just going to look back and go, wow, that was slightly crazy. But look, we got through it. I’m going to let you in on a little secret. It’s always a juggle. Some days you get a lot of work done and you can take off everything.

I don’t know about you, but I love writing lists. They’re like my life savior, but other days you might not even get to open your laptop and both situations are totally okay. You just have to be very kind to yourself because we’re getting through this. Australia is on the better end of the pandemic, but you’ve just got to feel okay with whatever you’re feeling. All right, lovely. This leads us to diving into today’s episode. I have been chatting with quite a lot of eco businesses and the same thing keeps coming up again. Again, and again, they’re finding it really hard to know what to post on Instagram at the moment. Is this you? Are you finding it really difficult to come up with a caption or just not sure how to really approach the pandemic either way? I really want to share with you some of my top social media prompts that are really guaranteed to really help you with your business right now, in today’s episode, we’re going to discuss what’s going on in the world and why now isn’t the time to stop posting on social media.

In fact, social media is more important than ever as more people are spending time on their phones than ever before. I read a statistic earlier today when I was researching for this episode. It says that the internet usage is up 50%. That is crazy. If that’s not a big enough reason for you to be jumping back onto your socials and back on social media, I don’t know what is, this really is such a great opportunity for you to reach your audience. You can provide them with information. You can provide them with interaction and positive thoughts. The one thing I want you to remember is that your followers are real people. These are real people consuming your content, and we have such a huge responsibility to handle this content with such great care. I don’t know about you, buddy. Emotions have been all over the place and lots of the time they’re feeling high.

If you put that little bit of extra thought into what your messages that you’re going to be sharing with your customers, your followers and your customers, they’re really good to notice it. They gotta absolutely appreciate that you care today. I wanted to talk to you about a few different options that you can have and what you can post on your socials to really navigate through this crazy time. My number one thing, ask your followers, how they’re going now might sound strange, especially if you haven’t been jumping onto Instagram Stories, but really remember Instagram is a two way communication platform and it’s really important to give as much as you receive. Now, sometimes I know you might be feeling a little stuck on how to word that, or maybe just bring it all together. Another tip you could do is you could just ask your audience how they are, get them to tell you about their day in emojis.

So ask them how they are. You could ask how they are coping with the new normal, or maybe you could just see what they’re struggling with at the moment, whatever path you go down. Remember to put that special thought into your message and always reply with a heartfelt, genuine reply. The comments that you leave. These are going to real people. If they’ve taken that time to leave that comment, it’s so important that you return that with that little bit of time. Number two, share the positivity. Now is a time to focus on all the happy and wonderful things in your life and in your business. People just really want to feel hope and find small moments of happiness in our days. They want to see some reasons to still smile because there’s so many reasons to smile at the moment. Maybe you had a good night’s sleep.

I know for myself, when I had a solid seven hours sleep with no children waking me up. Oh my goodness. I was so grateful that next morning. I liked sharing that positivity all day. My children, my husband, my friends – everyone was feeling it that day. Maybe you could tell a story that made you smile recently. Maybe you could tell a story of love and hope, or what about sharing your top three things that you’re grateful at the moment I’m trying to do this nearly every day, whether I’m sharing it on my socials or writing it down in my journal, but just taking a moment to think of three things that you’re really grateful for and my children wake up really early. I am grateful for seeing the sunrise every single day.

I truly believe that staying positive is the core ingredient in the recipe to really successfully coping during moments of crisis or just moments of doubt. Just try to keep reminding yourself of what there are things to be positive of and to be grateful for number three, post about your experiences by providing your personal stories. Now I know it can be scary and overwhelming to be jumping onto your socials and chatting to your phone, but it’s amazing. You can really strengthen the connection with your tribe and really build a quality relationship. Maybe you could share what travel plans you’re most looking forward to once it’s all over. I know I have so many, I just I’m happy to drive anywhere that’s further than 50 kilometers. I’ve got family that live outside of that, which we haven’t seen for so long. Maybe you could share something like that, or maybe you could share behind the scenes of what your days look like.

Pre Corona virus, verse two. Now in this new normal, are you battling homeschooling? Are you working late at night, staying up early in the morning or getting up early in the morning, maybe you can even share what it’s like working with your new coworkers or otherwise known as there’s very cute little humans that we have created that seemed to take a lot of toilet breaks and always request snacks. Or is that just my children? I don’t know. Number four business as usual business owners really need to always be looking towards the future and thinking about what you tried and what your customers, what their wants and needs are. You really need to think about what impact and what legacy you want to look back on. After the Corona virus is over, people are still buying.

Gosh as of recording this mother’s day is coming up soon, Easter’s coming gone. People are still spending money. They are keeping our economy going. I don’t want you to feel shame or guilt because you’ve kept your business open. Gosh some businesses have skyrocket Skype. Some businesses have skyrocketed. I would love to know how much the platform zoom, how much their shares have increased, because I’m pretty sure it’s went up since this has all happened. Now you’re probably wondering, okay, what are we going to post if it’s business as usual? So now’s a perfect time to reintroduce yourself and why you started your business in the first place. We’ve all got a story. That’s what makes our business different to the other eco business. You could simply remind them that you’re open for business, or you could share how you’ve kept your business evolving or perhaps pivoting during this time.

Basically in case you need to hear this, I want this to be your permission to continue doing what you do. So well. Number five, sharing eco goodness. Now even more so than ever, people are being forced to see that huge impact our world has taken from our actions. Over the past few years, I personally have loved seeing the images pop up in my feed. You probably have seen them as well. The ones that have the Himalayas that you can see in India for the first time in 30 years, or the fact that there’s jellyfish in the canals of Venice, or even my sister in law who lives in New York, says she heard birds for the first time from her apartment. She didn’t even know that there were birds in New York. Now you’ve probably also seen that flattening the curve graph, but have you seen the eco version of this? It’s amazing.

I love that these people have pivoted and created this, that basically it’s an eco flattening-the-curve graph. It’s just absolutely amazing. Now a couple of options that you could post could be sharing, amazing eco article that your audience would love. Have you read something recently and think, I’d loved my tribe to read that. Why don’t you share it? Or maybe you could talk about the charity or the course that you support or even share some new eco friendly tips that you’ve started during isolation. Your tribe will love these now they have it. They are some of my tips to help you keep posting, whether it be through the pandemic or after the pandemic. Basically, I just want you to continue being you and to continue showing up your business deserves to be out there and it deserves to be still making sales. I don’t want you to feel stuck.

I just want you to feel inspired to still post and still engage with your beautiful community. Now I’d love to hear what your biggest takeaway from this episode is.
